May 17, 2020 - the largest mental health education and fundraising effort in the country, last year more than 6,000 walkers raised well over $200,000. Join dozens of local businesses like yours and support NAMI’s statewide efforts.

 

 

 

 

 

 

                                                          

Local Education Programs

Basics as scheduled, typically 3 per year - one of the NAMI signature programs, it’s an 6 week education program for parents and caregivers of children and adolescents experiencing mental health challenges. Sponsors provide child care, materials, and graduation acknowledgements. NOW AVAILABLE ON DEMAND!

 

Peer-to-Peer – as scheduled, typically 3 per year - another of the NAMI signature programs, it’s an 10 week education program for anyone experiencing mental health challenges. Our sponsors provide child care, materials, and graduation acknowledgements.

Family-to-Family  – as scheduled, typically 3 per year - a NAMI signature programs, it’s an 8 week education program for family, friends, and caregivers of adults experiencing mental health challenges. Sponsors provide child care, materials, and graduation acknowledgements.

De Familia a Familia  – as scheduled, typically 2-3 per year - a NAMI program designed specifically for families of Hispanic descent, it’s a 12 week education program for family, friends, and caregivers of adults experiencing mental health challenges. Sponsors provide child care, materials, and graduation acknowledgements.

Homefront – as scheduled, typically 1-2 per year – the latest NAMI signature program, it’s a 6 week education program for family, friends, and caregivers of military service veterans experiencing the symptoms of a mental health condition. Sponsors provide child care, materials, and graduation acknowledgements.

Local Education Presentations

Ending the Silence3 VERSIONS - For Students: as scheduled - presented to Middle School and High School Health classes, we reached 700 students in just the first six months of 2017 with a message that “You Are Not Alone”. Sponsor dollars provide small stipends to the young presenters, as well as materials and supplies for the attendees. NEW - For Parents: Specifically designed to inform and involve parents and caregivers. For Teachers & Staff: Up-to-date information and best practices.

In Our Own Voice – as scheduled – for the general public, it is designed to promote awareness of mental illness and the real possibility of recovery. Sponsors provide child care and materials.

Family & Friends – as scheduled typically 3 per year - our latest 1/2 day workshop, this is a condensed version of our signature Family to Family program designed to inform and engage those who care for and about family members and/or friends experiencing mental health challenges. Sponsors provide child care and materials for attendees.

Local Support Groups

Family & Peer Support Groups – monthly - currently offering (7) seven ongoing, monthly support groups throughout Clackamas County; sponsors provide food, child care, and materials for participants.

Open Minds Art Studio – weekly on Thursdays - our eclectic gathering of aspiring artists seeking support, socialization, and the unique therapeutic value of art in all of its forms. Sponsors provide materials and supplies, as well as supporting 2-3 art shows and exhibits throughout the year.

NAMI Connection Support Groups – twice weekly - currently offered at Kaiser Brookside in Clackamas, it’s an ongoing, weekly support group offered specifically for  sponsors provide child care and materials for participants.
